Yes, you can rent a campervan with your dog in Barcelona at Advantura. Our vintage VW Kombis (Not the Lada Niva) welcome pets for free. Just bring your own bedsheets and sweep up before returning. Most companies like Roadsurfer or Siesta Campers use the opportunity to charge heavy extra fee. We try to keep it simple. No problem bringing your dog, just take of the interior to bring it back in a perfect state.
Advantura is just a little hobby I have on the side and I manage every single booking myself so feel free to ask me any questions regarding your roadtrip plan with your pet.
Last month, Julieta messaged me on WhatsApp. She was searching for an alquiler autocaravana con perro Barcelona i.e. rent a campervan with a dog Barcelona to go to Costa Brava and a campsite there along with her daughter.

Do Large Campervan Rental Companies Actually Accept Dogs?
Yes, they do. Major rental companies operating in Spain, such as Roadsurfer and Siesta Campers, allow dogs in their modern fleets. However, their size means they operate on standardized, corporate structures which include mandatory pet fees.
Because I run a small, independent fleet, I view your dog as a travel companion, not a liability. I skip the corporate surcharges and offer a straightforward, pet-friendly alternative for travelers craving a vintage road trip.
Rental Company | Pet Policy & Fees | Vehicle Types | Booking Experience |
Roadsurfer | Accepts dogs. Charges a flat fee of ~€135 per booking. | Modern, generic white campervans. | Centralized corporate booking platform. |
Siesta Campers | Accepts dogs. Charges an €80 flat fee per rental. | Modernized fleet with centralized hubs. | Online portal with standardized support. |
Advantura | Accepts dogs for free. €0 pet fee. | Distinctive vintage VW Kombis & 4x4 Lada Nivas. | Direct WhatsApp access to me, the local owner. |
What Are the Only Two Rules for Bringing Your Dog at Advantura?
We keep our prices free of pet fees by asking dog owners to respect two simple rules:
Bring your own bedsheets: To guarantee pristine hygiene for future guests (who might have allergies), you must bring your own sheets, blankets, and pillows.
Clean up before drop-off: You do not need to pay for a professional valet service, but you must thoroughly sweep the floor, shake out the rugs, and wipe down surfaces to remove dog hair and paw prints before handing back the keys.
What Are the Spanish DGT Rules for Driving with a Dog?
Keep Them in the Rear Cabin: Dogs must ride securely in the back of the van. Placing your dog in the front passenger footwell is strictly illegal.
Take Mandatory Rest Stops: Spanish regulations mandate that you stop every 2 to 3 hours to let your dog walk and hydrate.
Where Are the Best Dog-Friendly Spots in Catalonia?
Summer beach access for dogs in Catalonia is strictly regulated by local municipalities, but you can always find incredible spots if you know where to drive.
La Rubina : Point the Kombi north to La Rubina in Empuriabrava. It remains the gold standard for dog beaches in Spain, offering unrestricted year-round access and a vibrant, pet-friendly atmosphere.
Campsites : As long as they are dog-friendly It is a great option to just park there for a few days and chill.
Ebro Delta: Drive south of Barcelona to Balsa de la Arena. This massive, wild stretch of sand allows dogs to roam freely and is the perfect terrain for a slow, scenic cruise.
